In 2010 several former members of the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines formed the 3/3 Memorial Foundation to honor all members of “America’s Battalion” past, present and future. The board of directors is chaired by former 3/3 members and the 31st Commandant of the Marine Corps General Charles C. Krulak. Representatives from the pre-Vietnam era, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Iraq are on the board or are officers of the foundation.
As a permanent tribute to the Marines and Corpsmen of the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, the Foundation will place a memorial in the Memorial Park on the grounds of the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia. We have found a designer and selected a site for the memorial.
The 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines is a non-profit 501(c)19 corporation.
